What PromoMate is
PromoMate is for merchants who run percentage-off sales. You upload your orders and it tells you whether a sale is worth it: what it needs to break even, how far it has got while it runs, and afterwards whether it was worth it.
What it does
- Before. Your break-even target for the discount you're planning, based on your margin and normal trading.
- During. How far your sale has got, each time you upload a newer export.
- After. Whether the sale was worth it: what it needed to break even, and whether it got there. If a sale lands too close to normal trading to call, it says so plainly.
What it reads
On the website, PromoMate reads an orders export (a CSV file) that you upload. Customer names, emails and addresses are removed in your browser first, and PromoMate never connects to your store.
You enter a typical gross margin when you plan a sale; a rough figure is fine. Before you pay, PromoMate checks that it can deliver the reading, and tells you if it can't.
PromoMate for Shopify is a separate app that reads Shopify orders, products and stock directly. It is available now on the Shopify App Store.
What it costs
Finding out what your orders show is free, and so is your first sale reading. After that, a reading for one sale costs US$49, one time, with no subscription. It covers your BEFORE target, DURING readings and the AFTER result for that sale. It is charged by card in US dollars, and no GST is charged.
What it doesn't do
- It doesn't change your store or your discounts. It never connects to your store, and you still create and run the discount yourself.
- It doesn't send alerts. While your sale runs, you upload a newer export to see where it stands.
- It doesn't guarantee more revenue or profit. Results depend on the information available, and the AFTER comparison is a comparison, not proof of cause.
- It doesn't plan a different discount for each product. It plans one average discount across the sale, so products you discount more deeply than the rest aren't covered.
- It doesn't predict which discount will bring the most shoppers. It shows what each discount needs to pay for itself.
